Terms of Service

Last updated: August 16, 2026

No legal entity has been registered yet. The operator of Logtrace has not supplied a company name or governing jurisdiction. These terms will not be legally binding until a responsible entity is established. You are reading a placeholder that describes the intended relationship; it cannot be enforced until the operator completes registration.

Service overview

Logtrace is a client-side text formatting tool. It takes raw incident notes that you paste into the page and produces a structured timeline. All processing happens in your browser. The tool does not connect to any external monitoring system, does not send email, and does not store or transmit your data.

Use of the service

You may use Logtrace for any lawful purpose. You do not need an account. There are no usage limits on the Free tier beyond the technical constraint of the paste field (10,000 characters).

Data handling

Logtrace does not collect, store, or transmit the text you paste. It processes everything in your browser's memory. No data is written to disk, sent over the network, or retained after you close the tab. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

No accounts, no saved state

Logtrace does not offer user accounts, login, or persisted state. The Pro tier (when payment processing is set up) may offer client-side features such as export formats and a focus mode. No server-side storage of user data is involved at any tier.

Billing

No payment processor is connected yet. The Pro subscription described below is the intended billing plan. No real payments can be taken today, and no customer data is stored. The checkout form on the Pricing page is a demonstration of the planned flow.

Pro subscription

The Pro tier costs $6 per month (the "Subscription Fee") and includes everything in Free plus Focus Mode — a cleaner view that dims everything except the generated timeline. The Pro tier is paid per user.

Billing cycle

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. The first payment is due at sign-up. Each subsequent payment is due on the same calendar day of the following month. If that day does not exist in a given month, payment is due on the last day of that month.

Failed payments

If a payment fails (card declined, expired, or insufficient funds), we will retry the charge automatically up to three times over a period of seven days. If all three retries fail, the subscription will be suspended. Suspended accounts cannot access Pro features. The subscription can be reactivated by updating the payment method and completing payment for any outstanding invoice.

Refund policy

Because Logtrace is a client-side tool and the Free tier is fully functional with no limits, Pro is an optional add-on. Refunds for the current billing period are not offered. If you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to Free.

Cancellation

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.

Price changes

If the Subscription Fee changes, existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new fee.

Limitation of liability

Logtrace is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The output is a reformatting of the text you supplied — it does not verify, validate, or guarantee the accuracy of any information. You are responsible for reviewing the timeline before using it in a postmortem or incident report.

Intellectual property

The Logtrace name, logo, and visual design are the property of the operator. The text you paste and the timeline generated from it remain your property.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. No separate notification will be sent because there is no mechanism to deliver one. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

To be determined. No jurisdiction has been designated because no legal entity exists. The operator must supply a jurisdiction before a governing law clause can be written.

Contact

There is no contact email address for Logtrace because no mailbox has been set up. If you need to reach the operator, the issue must be raised through the channel by which you received this product (e.g. GitHub, the evaluation platform, or the team managing the deployment).
